How to get to the Carpool Connection Website:
- Go to the Lakeside School homepage: www.lakesideschool.org
- Click on “My Portal”
- Towards the top, on the left side, and under “Lion Login,” sign in with your Lakeside username and password. This is the part that makes the rest of the process entirely secure and protected by Lakeside’s internet security.
- In roughly the same place, under where it says “Welcome,” you will see a menu with a list of different pages. Click on “Directory.”
- At the top of the “Directory” page, under the title of the page, you can select students, staff, faculty, or parents. This will be the group of people that you find locations for.
- Then, on the right side, you can select the criteria of who you want to see on the map (grade, home state, home city, etc.).
- Finally, once you’ve selected your criteria, click “Map,” under the search bar at the top of the page.
- You will then see a map with pins, identifying where the people that you’ve selected live. You can click on these pins to see who the person is, and what their address is. You can also click on a link to get directions to this location, once you’ve clicked on the pin.
Connecting to Kanu Hawai’i:
Kanu Hawaii is a program, based in Hawaii, that encourages individuals to make commitments to make a difference individually. When you sign up to join this non-profit organization, you can then pledge to make environmentally friendly decisions. The website can then calculate the difference you are making in terms of your carbon footprint and carbon emissions and let you know the significance of what you’re doing.

To join, simply select a commitment you want to make, or write your own. You will then be led through the process of creating a username and password so you can have an account on their website.
